Not literally.
I’ve just been thinking A LOT about the summer and all the bonfires we hope to host in our backyard.
Maybe it’s the smell of wood burning or the sight of my kids running through the yard playing flashlight tag on a hot steamy night. Or maybe, just maybe, it’s the fact that all bonfires require one little thing to be labeled a “success”:

Now that’s what I’m talkin’ about!
(Is it bad to build an outdoor structure solely for a dessert? No, no it is not.)
We’re planning on putting in a fire pit soon. (Well, I say soon, but my husband says: “Yeah, yeah, I’ll get RIGHT on that.“ So I may be doing it alone.)
ANYHOW.
I’ve been searching Pinterest for ideas and inspiration and figured I would share a few with you all.
I want something simple. Very simple. But I think this one is a little TOO simple. Although I like the size–we could get a nice big fire going in there!

This one is gorgeous. I love the flat stones surrounding the pit. Not sure I’ll get my husband on board with that idea.
This is what I envision–with more chairs. And maybe a small ring of stone around the base of the pit.

I don’t love this setup but I DO love the color of the stone on the ground surrounding it.
Here are a few more ideas I’ve been admiring. I just love the entire set-up of these yards.

There are a lot of great ideas out there. I’m feeling very inspired and ready to get started.
I’ll probably go to the grocery store first though…
