Since I was a little girl I’ve loved changing spaces around. I was notorious for moving my bedroom furniture around and creating a fresh new space with what I had. As an adult, I still love moving furniture from one room to another–much to the annoyance of my family:) Not quite sure why my girls don’t love it when I’ve rearranged their bedrooms-go figure! Typically they appease me and know mom is just doing her thing. I figure it’s like a family I Spy game–usually it takes my husband the longest to notice the changes, but my girls point them out while he’s shaking his head.
The other morning as I was doing my usual work routine reading blogs, working on our blog, I had the immediate desire to switch sofas from our living room to family room. There was no more blog work–I had to make the switch!
Here are the sofas in what was their respective places prior to the switcheroo.
The green sofa is shown here in the family room.
The cream sofa is shown here in the living room.
Yep, these are two rather large sofas that I muscled by myself…I think our dog was even laughing at me!
The Move…
At this point I was starting to wonder what I got myself into.
Minor hazard of moving things by yourself–thank goodness for Scott’s Liquid Gold. It works miracles and takes out all scratches that family members potentially would have seen–oops.
The dark green sofa in its new home.
The cream sofa in its new home.
Have you ever moved something and wonder why you hadn’t done it sooner? I felt that way as soon as I saw how each sofa looked in their new spaces. The cream sofa is light, refreshing and adds brightness to our family room, while the dark green sofa compliments the dark tones and anchors the space in the living room.
Not a dime spent yet I feel like I have new spaces. Drop us a comment and tell us how you refresh your spaces?

Love the new places for the sofas and your home. Gorgeous!!!!!! I really love the cream sofa- I have wanted to get a slip cover for mine but am hesitant since I do not think my daughter and husband could handle me with a cream or white couch! I would be wrapping it in plastic to keep it from getting dirty. Envious of how much space you have around the furniture!
Thanks Trish! All the designer’s out there say white/cream slip covers are super easy because they can be laundered…unfortunately, mine is not slip covered and not so easy to clean, so we’ll see how long this switch lasts
We’re due for a visit soon….see you!
My urge to rearrange is seriously hindered by my limited floor plan! But when I worked and had my very own office I switched it around monthly! Drove my co-workers batty …

I’ve been stalking your blog long enough for me to grab a third cup of coffee now. It’s such a shame I didn’t discover it sooner. Bummer. But I love it, and I’m here to stay.
Have a great day – and I would have LOVE to have been there to help you move those sofas….
Thanks Kim…glad you found us and will stick around
