Collections…big or small we all have them right? I love my ironstone, cake stand, globe, and scale collections. I truly LOVE the thrill of finding those items – it’s way more than half the fun.
My collections are not huge but enough to be useful and visually appealing. My goal is to NEVER look as though I’m trying to make it on an episode of Hoarder’s! I always try to remind myself of these tips when deciding to purchase. And remember not everything has to be old to collect…like these impostor ironstone plates that can easily be added to an existing collection. Some of my favorite pieces are flawed by antique standards, but that only makes me love them that much more.
A few years ago I acquired a stack of luncheon plates from my husbands grandmother. I occasionally use them when entertaining, but decided that a few would be useful around the house as well as look good.
In the bathroom to hold jewelry and products.
The kitchen with needed items close at hand.
The bathroom for soaps and lotions.
My cake stands are great pieces to use in various ways beyond the typical display of sweets. My girls use them on their desks to hold miscellaneous items.
Collections are a great way of showcasing your personality…what collections do you have?
