Menagerie Monday

Happy Monday Everyone!

I know that last week I probably freaked some people out by moving straight on to Christmas. Like television commercials, I tend to bypass Thanksgiving and head straight to the big kahuna. Mostly because I’ve never actually celebrated it in my own home. My family and I travel hours and hours to celebrate in my hometown where we’ll have more than 40 people gathered around a VERY large table.

So there’s never been the smells of a baking turkey floating around the house, no centerpieces overflowing with gourds and bittersweet to create.

Nothing but suitcases, several bottles of wine, and a very long ride.

In fact, around my house we refer to turkey day as – The Appetizer to Christmas.

Awful. I know.

You can stop judging me now.

I AM thankful for my life and all that fills it…I just REALLY like Christmas.

So for all of you who do get to host Thanksgiving, here are some great table decorating ideas. Along with the earlier Christmas Decorating post, I’m loving white, gold and silver this year. And although it’s a little out of the box for this particular holiday, I think it’s a bit unusual and that it looks amazing – so new and fresh. I’m not sure what Carin has up her sleeve this Thanksgiving – she actually does get to host, so we’ll make sure she gets some great photos of her table to share.

After looking at these, maybe I’ll host an Appetizer to Thanksgiving dinner?
